,The Role
Since optimising our product in early 2020, we’ve experienced tremendous growth commercially. While we have bespoke designed tools and world-class technologies to make running the business easier and more efficient, we’ve also needed to grow the team to keep up with customer demand. We have an outstanding and talented team, and we want to make sure that our people function is supporting them as well as possible. Our continued expansion plans mean that we need some extra support in our people team!
If you want to grow your career in a people function, this could be your role. Whilst you won’t need extensive generalist experience to be successful, bringing some prior knowledge will help you hit the ground running.
This is a true generalist role, which will provide ample opportunities to experience the entire employee lifecycle. There is an opportunity to make a genuine impact here at Lottomart, and we are excited to see our next People Specialist build their career with us!
This role will report to the Head of People.

Requirements
Education & Qualifications
This role requires someone to demonstrate the attributes and experience shown below, which we would value more than formal qualifications. However, while not essential, any courses completed or qualifications attained that relate to the people profession, such as a CIPD qualification, will demonstrate your commitment to this career path and will provide a basis of knowledge for you to succeed.
Experience
You should:
-
Be proficient with tech like JIRA and Google & Microsoft productivity tools. A lot of what we do is technology-driven and we constantly look to leverage new developments to help improve what we do. Having user or admin knowledge of a HRIS, (like BambooHR), candidate management system or learning management system would be a bonus!
-
Be able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
-
Want to develop your existing knowledge and skill set. As our team grows, so will our People processes, which will present opportunities for you to get involved in different things throughout your career journey with us!
-
Be able to bring experience from a people-focused role. This may have been specialised, such as in a recruitment or training capacity, or in a generalist HR position.
Personal Characteristics
You should:
-
Clearly stating the obvious: be a people person! This role depends on a high degree of finesse, empathy, resilience, and awareness.
-
Bring energy, enthusiasm, and passion to your job. As the front line in the people function, you are a brand ambassador, and staff will refer to the example you set for the business and, more broadly, the team.
-
Understand our culture. Since you will be at the forefront of recruitment, part of your remit will be to evaluate candidates on how well they fit with our team and our values. This includes following through to the onboarding process and seeing how the new team members integrate with our style and approach.
-
Exude transparency, openness, and fairness. These are incredibly important skills to demonstrate.
-
Be an expert communicator in both written and verbal mediums. This role includes a lot of direct interaction with prospective employees as well as our existing team members and they should look to our People Team for a professional, helpful and friendly tone.
-
Be able to handle sensitive information with discretion and ensure confidentiality at all times.
-
Be very organised. There are a lot of moving parts with this role, so someone that can bring order and structured thought is important.
-
Want to strive for continual improvement. There’s always a lot happening and our evolution will always present opportunities for us to do things better but you’ll be surrounded by an incredibly talented team that’s always open to hearing your ideas.
-
Be flexible with shifting priorities and timelines; one of our strengths is responding to new opportunities quickly.
-
Speak English fluently. Having other languages and exposure to many different cultures will be beneficial for building rapport with an inclusive team.
Team Benefits
We care about you, your health, and your wellbeing. That’s why we’ve put together a comprehensive benefits plan to give you peace of mind, allowing you to focus your amazing talents on what you do best!
Here’s what we offer all permanent employees:
Private Medical Cover: Our comprehensive plan is designed to supplement the state healthcare that you currently receive while giving you ample coverage for life’s bigger unexpected events. The plan is free of charge and covers you individually for both physical and mental health.
Birthday Day: Working on your birthday is a thing of the past. At Lottomart, we want you to celebrate your special day in style as a paid extra day off above and beyond your standard holiday entitlement. Enjoy!
Pay It Forward Day: Every year, we will cover up to a full working day’s pay to give you the time to dedicate yourself to a cause you care about. Make a difference by contributing to your local community, helping people, caring for animals, or protecting the environment.
Thank Holidays: Lottomart will designate a minimum of 5 days per calendar year, which will be Lottomart 'Thank Holidays' on which our employees can take the day off as a thank you for all of the hard work they put in every day.
Death in Service Cover: If something happens to you while working for Lottomart, this policy will pay out multiples of your annual salary to take care of your family.
Fresh Fruit & Pizza Fridays! We provide a healthy fruit snack area if you’re feeling like something fresh during the day. For something a bit more decadent, we order all kinds of enormous pizzas from Pizzeria Place outside Casemates to end the week on a high note.
Fast Learning & Growing: Despite being a few years old, we still think of ourselves as a start-up. That means that there are plenty of opportunities to learn, expand your responsibilities, and turbocharge your career growth that you might not otherwise have in a large corporation.
